Kitten and Puppy FAQs
We recommend scheduling their first vet visit within the first week of bringing them home. Coming in as soon as you have your new pet means that we can address any early health concerns right away.
Vaccines typically start around 8 weeks old and are given every 3–4 weeks until your puppy or kitten is around 16 weeks old. After that, they will need periodic boosters throughout their life. Our staff will walk you through the schedule. If you ever need to reschedule a vaccine appointment, please call us right away. Waiting too long can result in a need to restart the booster series.
Puppies and kittens are commonly born with intestinal parasites or pick them up from their environment. Deworming eliminates these worms to prevent digestive issues and protect other pets and people in your household.
Microchipping early on is a safe, effective way to protect your pet if they ever get lost. It’s a quick, one-time procedure that provides lifelong identification and peace of mind.
Absolutely! Your first few visits are the perfect time to ask about nutrition, behavior, training, socialization, spaying/neutering, and more. We are here to support you and make sure you feel confident at every stage of your pet’s development.
